About our lessons

ELENA TORREY
~ Flute ~ Piano ~

If you love the sound of the flute, and would like to learn how to play, I'd be happy to get you started!

I grew up in Amherst, Mass. where I began taking music lessons at the age of eight. When I was twelve years old, my family moved back to Colombia, where I did my junior high and high school, and continued music studies at the local university and conservatory. At the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati I earned my Master of Music degree.

I have over 20 years experience teaching and coaching students of all levels. I've played with chamber groups and orchestras all over the world, and also been Music Director for several groups and ensembles, including several youth orchestras. If you want details, you can check out my webpage: www.mariaelenatobon.com

After 17 years of successful practice in New York City, I recently married and moved to Peterborough, and I'm thrilled to teach Flute for the Peterborough Music Company.

Along with my classical training, I've played many styles of music including Latin, Pop and Contemporary. I can help you create and enjoy the music you love!
